Job Description: Temporary ODP Anaesthetics Position
We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) specializing in Anaesthetics to join our team on a temporary basis. This position is in partnership with Circle Health Group and will be based at The Meriden Hospital, located on the University Hospital Site in Coventry, Warwickshire, West Midlands, CV2 2LQ, United Kingdom.
As an ODP Anaesthetics, your main role will be to assist the anaesthetist during surgical procedures, ensuring the safe administration of anaesthesia to patients. You will be responsible for preparing the anaesthetic room, checking equipment and supplies, and assisting with patient positioning and monitoring throughout the procedure.
This temporary position is scheduled to start on 28/05/2024 and will end on the same day. The shift will start at 12:30 PM and end at 8:30 PM, with a payment rate of £234.66 per shift.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Assisting the anaesthetist in administering anaesthesia to patients before surgery
- Monitoring patients' vital signs during procedures and providing assistance as needed
- Preparing the anaesthetic room and ensuring all equipment is in working order
- Assisting with patient positioning and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the surgical procedure
- Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate records
To be successful in this role, you must have a relevant qualification in Operating Department Practice and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Previous experience working in anaesthetics is essential, as well as a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
Excellent communication skills are also crucial, as you will be working closely with the anaesthetist, surgical team, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care.
